This training will provide the attendees with the tools and knowledge they need to identify their students’ profiles, by specifying their communication methods, challenging behaviors, and interests. They will also learn how to develop and implement successful interventions in a classroom setting based on a classroom management plan.
Training Objectives:
By the end of this training, the attendees will be able to:
• Identify the different types of student profiles
• Understand the communication methods, challenging behaviors, and interests of students with different profiles
• Develop and implement successful interventions for students with challenging behaviors
• Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and make adjustments as needed
This training is designed for educators, school administrators, and other professionals who work with students with challenging behaviors. It is also beneficial for parents and caregivers of students with challenging behaviors.
Biography:
Abir Al Houry, M.Ed., BCBA Abir Al Houry is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst, she has been working in the field of ABA since 2011. She trains paraprofessionals, designs and supervises the implementation of programs, and collaborates with school personnel (teachers, administrators, etc.) as well as families of children with special needs. She is also responsible for the integration programs of children with diverse diagnoses, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Cerebral Palsy (CP), and Down Syndrome. She also offers workshops on various topics, such as Introduction to ABA, Functions of Behavior, Classroom Management, and RBT Training. Abir holds a bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology (Lebanese University), a Master’s degree in Educational Management (Lebanese International University). Her MEd thesis – “The Impact of the Token Economy System on the Task Performance of the Behavior Technicians in an Early Intervention Center – was an exploration in Organizational Behavior Management (OBM), in which Abir is most interested. She is completed the ABAI Verified Course Sequence through FIT’s online program in Spring 2021. Abir has received training in such assessment/curriculum programs as VB-MAPP (Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program) and PEAK Training System, in addition to attending workshops related to such areas as Dr. Greg Hanley’s Practical Functional Assessment (PFA) and Interview-Informed Synthesized Contingency Analysis (IISCA). Abir is a board member of the Association for Behavior Analysis – Lebanon (ABAL), the Lebanese chapter of the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI). Abir is currently working as Clinical Supervisor at Sulukeyat Learning Difficulties Center in Dubai
